Last week we took a little trip to the Muskoka area for work, where we were able to book a last-minute overnight stay at Rocky Crest Golf Resort, one of the top Muskoka resorts. This was a new experience for us, in which I’m so excited to share what we did in the short time we visited and why we loved it so much!
Breakfast of Champions: Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and it just so happened that while we were visiting, they had one of the most delicious breakfast buffets that we all enjoyed so much! We indulged in multiple plates of a wide variety of breakfast options as well as fresh juices. The restaurant was hosted in a beautiful dining room with huge windows that overlooked Lake Joseph.
Spacious Rooms: Rocky Crest is the perfect spot for groups of all sizes, boasting luxury suites, villas, cabins as well as cottages. We booked the two-bedroom loft but opted for the change in rooms when they offered us a premium one-bedroom suite upon arrival with one of the best views on the property. The suite was really large and perfect for us. Our stay featured a kitchen, dining table, living area and a front sitting room with a little balcony off the side with seating. The pictures from our room do not do justice to how stunning the view of Lake Joseph truly was!
Perfect for Families: One of my favourite things about Rocky Crest Resort was that they really cater to the kids. There is so much to do here as a family, you can spend your days at the water park, canoeing, kayaking, hiking or just relaxing and taking in the views. The front lobby was also a really, cute touch that made this feel like such a camping experience, bringing back memories from my childhood. We discovered this area on a walk after our dinner at Bayside Patio & Lounge on the property. While visiting the lobby, we picked up some movies to rent for our room and bought ice cream treats to share. They also had campfire necessities, snacks and Muskoka clothing and souvenirs. Overall, this is such a great place for kids of all ages and can’t wait to spend more time here in the future for a vacation.
Lake Joseph: Rocky Crest is perched along the outcrops of the Canadian Shield, located in Hammer Bay on beautiful Lake Joseph in Muskoka. When looking at the photos before arriving here I honestly thought there wasn’t much of a beach area, but this resort truly exceeded my expectations with its outstanding waterfront. This resort was full of soft sand all along the shore, the beach was great with a play area for our toddler and we enjoyed wading in some of the most clear lake water I’ve ever seen.
The Views: When you first arrive at the resort the view literally takes your breath away. I think every guest leaves Rocky Crest with the same photo of the view from the top of the resort because it is absolutely stunning to see the grounds with gardens overlooking the pool and the lake views.
I forgot to mention one of the best parts about this resort is that you can also enjoy playing a round of golf at one of the ClubLink golf courses, ranked third best Canadian course by Golfweek. We are not big golfers, but would love to experience this course next time we visit because the views here look spectacular.
This resort in Muskokas is located in the heart of the great outdoors for our area of Ontario and we are feel so privileged to be able to experience it. We look forward creating so many more memories on the lakes in this area and we will definitely be planning our stay at Rocky Crest Golf Resort!
